Development Manager for the Archive of Market and Social Research
The Archive of Market and Social Research (AMSR) is looking for a business development manager to improve and extend its supporter stewardship and fundraising activity. This is a new role which has been created in response to AMSR’s continuing growth.
At present, AMSR’s income comes from a small group of individuals and market research agencies. Its supporters are mainly senior people who are working in, or who used to work in, the Insight and Research profession. As AMSR continues to grow, it will need to extend and diversify its supporter base beyond the Insight sector to pay for new developments. These will include extending its collection policy to cover purely digital material, launching modern and specialist collections that will preserve much more recent material than AMSR currently holds, and raising funds for specific purposes e.g. curating specialist collections for teaching students and schoolchildren.
The role will involve working with the AMSR Marketing Committee and the existing small team of fundraising volunteers to help secure existing income and increase future income, including legacies and funds from grant giving bodies. We expect the workload to average out at one day a week. We are ideally seeking a volunteer but will consider a paid role for the right candidate. Prior experience of working with the market and social research sector is not essential.
If you would like more information about the role please email Gill Wareing with a brief outline of your experience that is relevant to the role.
The Archive of Market and Social Research (AMSR) is a relatively new charity, established and mainly run by over 40 forward-thinking and energetic volunteers from the Market and Social Research industry. The principal aims of the charity are to preserve materials that will be essential to social historians, researchers, journalists and students studying the recent history of Britain and its culture. It also seeks to the highlight the performance of one of the UK’s world-leading, industry sectors over the last 70 years and to showcase the impact that the sector has had on society as a whole.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][/vc_row][/vc_section]
