AMSR privacy policy
We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.
This policy sets out how AMSR uses and protects any information that you give us when you make a donation, participate in events including fund raising events, or ask to receive our newsletter. We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. Changes will be notified in the News pages of the AMSR website.
What we do with the data that we collect
Information collected from donors to AMSR, users of the archive and participants in events is to allow us to administer your donation or the events and to provide you with our newsletter. We may collect your name, email and/or home address, details of any financial donations made, or contributions of archive material, newsletters and other material that we have sent you, and AMSR events that you may attend.
This information will be held securely in password protected documents or locked filing cabinets.
You may opt out of receiving material at any time by contacting enquiries@amsr.org.uk
We will not use your data for any purpose other than that for which it was given.
We will not transfer your personal data outside of the European Economic Area.
In line with data protection laws, we will use such information appropriately and retain it for no longer than is necessary. We will keep records of donations for five years beyond the final donation made by an individual for accountancy purposes. If you opt out of receiving the newsletter or other material from AMSR, then all information will be deleted other than your name and basic contact details (email and/or home address) together with a ‘do not contact’ marker in order to ensure that we do not contact you for at least five years.
AMSR is the Data Controller for the data you provide.
Should we collect personal data that is not already in the public domain as part of the material within the archive, we will seek your consent to hold it if that is practical. This data will be placed in the public domain as part of the archive. It will not then be possible to withdraw consent and it will be held there indefinitely.
