The latest quarterly newsletter from AMSR is now available on the website.

Among the many fascinating contributions are coverage in the Letter from the Editor of recent dicussions, not least on BBC Radio 4, of the similarities between UK citizens’ desire to stay at home during WW2 and the psychological effect on the present-day population of the Covid-19 pandemic. Research undertaken during the war will provide fascinating comparisons, while the latest research will eventually form its own important branch of the Archive’s contents.

Also included are articles remembering Sir Terence Conran’s views on the immense value of market research and testing in developing his brands; the publication of a forthcoming book by AMSR Chairman entitled: “The War Against The BBC”; news of new additions to the Archive from the Target Group Index data bank; a book in development drawing on anecdotes, recollections and cartoons related to UK market research history; and an obituary for Sue Nosworthy.

The newsletter always aims to provide a wide-ranging perspective on the activities and influences of the AMSR, and to provide the latest updates on its development and growth. By subscribing, you can make sure of receiving the latest issues by email as soon as they are released. Simply head for the newsletter page and hit the big red ‘Subscribe’ button at the top of the page! You’ll be asked for a few basic details – please be assured that we take our responsibilities to your privacy seriously and do not share this information with third parties.
